ALL FOSTER PARENTS MUST:
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Participate in our orientation program prior to assuming the position of a foster parent
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs available or necessary
- All foster parents must possess a clear criminal record check (Broad Record Check)
- Criminal record check will also be required for everyone over the age of 18 for fostering in your own home
- All foster parents must provide a clear medical check
- Must participate in an intensive home study interview and provide 5 written reference letters
- Must participate in weekly reviews of the treatment plans for the foster children
- Must be available for weekly supervision
- Must be able to work with other professionals
- Must provide a safe and nurturing environment for the development of the child or youth
